On the WTA Tour this week, a tournament is Bogota, Columbia that is called the Cop Claro Colsanitas, an event that happens from February 18th to the 23rd. This tournament will be played the same time as two others on the calender, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship, which happen from February 18th to the 23rd in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and the US National Indoor Tennis Championship, which start on the 17th and go through till the 23rd and are scheduled to be played in Memphis, Tennessee in the USA.

The most recent tournament played on the Tour was the February 11th through the 17th Copa Bionaire, which happened in Cali, Columbia. It was won by Lara Arrubarrena-Vecina in the singles and by Catalina Castano and Mariana Duque-Marino in the doubles. This tournament is played on clay and is an international level tournament. Last year, it was Lara Arruabarrena Vecino who took the prize while Lourdes Dominguez Lino won the year prior. Other winners have included Mariana Duque-Marino and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez.

On the WTA Tour this week is a tournament in Bogota, Columbia called the XX Copa BBVA Colsanitas. It is an international level tournament that is played outdoors on red clay and is worth $220,000. It has a singles draw of 32 and a doubles draw of 16 and will begin on February 13th. This tournament is followed by the Memphis WTA International Event, an outdoors hard court tournament that starts on the 19th. Also coming up on the tour is the Dubai Duty Free Championships, played outdoors on hard courts starting the 20th for $2 Million.

Marina Erakovic is the number one seed for this tournament and Alexandra Dulgheru will take the second seed spot. Then we have Romina Oprandi and Jelena Dokic as the third and the fourth seeds. It should be no surprise that the finest player in South American tennis is the top seed for this tournament. Gisela Dulko has already stopped Ana Ivanovic in the third round of this year's Australian Open and is currently ranked number thirty five in the world. She's got a great record in the past at this tournament, with a record of 7-3, and even a spot in last year's finals, losing to Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. Her first round match up is with French Player Mathilde Johansson and she may very well move on to take the title this year.
