Serena Williams Remembers Michael Jackson
Serena Williams was one of the shocked and sad faces yesterday when she learned of Michael Jackson's untimely death. Williams met Jackson on multiple occasions, and was star struck each time. Serena Williams and Roger Federer were both mourning the pop star's death on Thursday, at Wimbledon's. Williams said that she couldn't find the words to express her shock and horror, making a statement after beating Roberta Vinci to make it to Wimbledon's fourth round. Williams also said that Jackson was a complete icon.
She met Jackson on more than one occasion and said that she was as giddy as any other fan of the pop star. Williams said that for her, Jackson was the celebrity of all celebrities. As for Federer, he remembered standing outside a stadium in Basel, Switzerland in the 80's and listening to Jackson playing inside. Federer beat Philipp Kohlschreiber at his match at Wimbledon and said about Jackson and his tragic death that he loves his music, and that it was a very sad moment in the music world. Williams was asked what her favorite Jackson song was, and while she couldn't name one, she called him the greatest entertainer for her, for all time.
The Pop Icon was found dead in his Holmby Hills home on Thursday. According to a cardiologist at UCLA Jackson died of a heart attack. Paramedics attempted to revive him at him home, but he had no pulse and they weren't able to get one back. Latoya Jackson reportedly ran sobbing into the hospital after Jackson was pronounced dead. The pop star was fifty years old, and is survived by three children, Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr, Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince Michael Jackson II.
