Caroline Wozniaki Advances in Family Circle Cup
Wozniacki just won at Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida in the United States said about her opponent that she returned a lot of balls and that for her to win that first round tournament she had to find her game and figure out a way to beat her. Wozniacki said that once she did that, she was able to score a bunch of points and ultimately win the game. Caroline Wozniacki will play her next round on Thursday against Patty Schnyder who is seeded sixteenth in this event, and is from Swizerland. She won against Portugal's Michelle Larcher De Brito to advance 6-3, 6-1.
There were a few withdraws as the tournament moved into the second round. One of those was France's Marion Bartoli who was seeded fifth. She quit in the middle of her match with Chinese player Peng Shuai, apparently after growing ill. She had been feeling fine going into the event but then had stomach pains and dizziness during that match. At the time she was losing to Shuai 2-6, 7-6, 4-3. Victoria Azarenka, seeded third and Japanese player Ayumi Morita were the other two players who bowed out in round two.
