Victoria Azarenka will be taking on Alberta Brianti from Italy at 11:00AM in the Court Philippe Chatrier in the first round of the women's singles competition. Other matches happening at that court at 11:00AM include Na Li from China and Sorana Cirstea as well as Novak Djokovic from Serbia, the number one men's seed against Italy's Potito Starace.
Victoria Azarenka has played in the French Open six times in the past. She has competed in both the singles and the doubles competition. Her best showing in the singles was the quarterfinals twice, once in 2009 and once in 2011. As for her opponent this week, Alberta Brianti, she has played in four French Open competitions in the past, and is partnered up with Patricia Mayr-Achleitner in the doubles. She has only made it to the first round in the singles so far, but made it to round two in the doubles in 2010.
