On the seventh day of the French Open, which happens on Saturday, the second of June, Shuai Peng and Maria Sharapova face off in the third round of the women's singles competition. Shuai Peng is number 28 right now and comes to us from China while Maria Sharapova is from Russia and is seeded second. They are going to be playing at 11:00AM at the Court Philippe Chatrier. Also playing at 11:00AM at that court, a third round match between Eduardo Schwank and Rafael Nadal which is also on Saturday, June 2^nd.

Shuai Peng has played in five different French Open competitions in the past. She was able to make it to the third round last year but has not made it any farther so far, unless she wins her match against Maria Sharapova on Saturday to move into the fourth round. Among those she was able to beat to get here were Lourdes Dominguez Lino and Tamira Paszek. As for Maria Sharapova, she has played in nine French Opens before, and has beaten Alexandra Cadantu and Ayumi Morita to get to the third round of the French Open.
