The Davis Cup Quarterfinal is this week and you won't want to miss these eight teams competing for a place in the semifinals and eventually, the Davis Cup Finals. The Czech Republic, USA, Russia, Argentina, Croatia and Israel are all in the finals with Czech Republic and Argentina playing, Israel and Russia, Croatia and The U.S. And of course Spain and Germany. All of these matches will take place from July 10^th to the 12^th and the Spain and Germany match will happen on Spain's own turf, at the Plaza de Toros de Puerto Banus in Marbella.

Currently, Spain is ranked number two on the points standings while Germany is number five. These two nations have faced each other a total of fourteen times. Germany has taken the win nine times, four of those on clay and one on grass. There are five times that Spain has won against Germany, three on a clay course and one on a hard court. This match-up will mark the fifteenth time these teams have faced off and it is anyone's guess who will take the win.

The 2008 quarterfinal also saw Spain facing off against Germany and out of the fourteen times that they have met up in a match three of those have resulted in a final win. Germany currently has more wins in head-to-head, but Spain is three for four in their matches this season. Last year's quarterfinal saw Spain winning the Davis Cup and they're hoping for a repeat this year. They certainly have the advantage over Germany, winning the past fifteen games played on their own turf, and winning a total of six games in a row. However, Germany may want it more, reaching the quarters their third straight year, and hoping to reach the semis again, as they did in 2007.
