The World Group Quarterfinals is this week, and it will be held July 9^th through the 11^th for a spot in the semis. We have four matches to look forward to. France and Spain, Croatia taking on Serbia, Chile versus the Czech Republic and the match we are going to talk about, Russia and Argentina. Five times Russia and Argentina have gone head to head. Russia has a slight advantage on ties taking three to Argentina's 2. However, the Argentines have not yet defeated Russia on their own home soil. They met last in 2006 in a final match, when Marat Safin gave Russia the point and won the title. Russia got here by winning 3-2 over India in a match in Moscow. Argentina got here by beating Sweden in their own city of Stockholm. Russia has won once more besides the 2006 title and Argentina has yet to win a Davis Cup Final.

The official team nominations for Russia are Nikolay Davydenko, Mikhail Youzhny, Teimuraz Gabashvili and Igor Kunitsyn while the Russians are being captained by Shamil Tarpischev. As for Argentina, their team this year is composed of Horacio Zeballos, Eduardo Schwank, Leonardo Mayer and David Nalbandian. The team captain for Argentina is Tito Vazquez.
