This event happens at the TC Weissenhof Stuttgart Stadium and Day One action starts at 11:00. 15:00 is the time tournaments start on Day Two and the third day's events will happen starting at 11:00. This is an outdoor tournament on red clay and this is the 9^th time that Germany and South Africa have met in a Davis Cup tournament. Germany right now leads their matchups with a total of five wins to three for the South Africans, as well as winning the last four rounds. If Germany keeps their World Group status they will have done it six years in a row.

The team nominations for Germany include Philipp Kohlschreiber, Florian Mayer and Andreas Beck as well as Christopher Kas with Patrik Kuhnen as team captain.
