While Spain possesses a host of top players in the Davis Cup, they do not have the same luxury in the Fed Cup and will have to rely on home advantage to get the better of Russia this weekend. Leading the charge for Spain will be World Number 26 Annabel Medina who won the silver medal in the Beijing Olympics this year. She will be accompanied by Virgina Ruano along with Carla Suanez for this competition. This will probably be the last Federation Cup encounter on home soil for 34 year Ruano and she will be hoping to lead Spain to success against heavily fancied Russia this weekend.
