The U.S. Faces off against the Czech Republic in the struggle for the ITF Fed Cup on Saturday April 25^th and Sunday, April 26^th. Although it's been seven years since the United States took home the Fed Cup, they're bringing their best to the tournament this year. The Czech Republic however, stands ready to defend themselves as both teams look for a win this 2009 season.

This year's semi-final between the United States and the Czech Republic will be played on an indoor hard court at Starobrno Rondo Arena in Brno, Czech Republic. The U.S. Team is captained by Mary Joe Fernandez and her players are Liezel Huber, Bethanie Mattek-Sands, Melanie Oudin and Alexa Glatch. Huber and Oudin have already had a victory, winning the quarter final round in Surprise, Arizona over Argentina. Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Alexa Glatch will be playing for the Fed Cup for the first time.

Czech Republic's team includes Captain Petr Pala, Iveta Benesova, Petra Kvitova, Lucie Safarova and Kveta Peschke.   Kveta Peschke is especially skilled in doubles tournaments and Iveta Benesova is the number 25-ranked player in the world. Even so, this is the first semi-final for the Czech Republic since 1997.

Safarova is a native of Brno and while playing in a court in her hometown may not give her much advantage, her 3-5 Fed Cup record may be a factor. You can catch all of the hard court action live with your membership as the action starts on Saturday April 25^th and continues the next day.
