Czech Republic v Australia Live
The Czech Republic will host Australia at Ostrava, in what could be one of the more interesting first round ties of the 2015 edition of the prestigious tournament. A 28-times winner, Australia is the second most prolific Davis Cup nation after the United States, but similarly to the Americans, their recent results won’t necessarily blow you away.
The last time the Aussies won was more than a decade ago, when a Lleyton Hewitt led team emerged victorious over Spain. Although they are only three-time champions, the Czechs were extremely successful lately, winning the competition in 2012 and 2013 as well. They also made the semifinal last year, only losing to the eventual runner-up French team. There is no question that the best player on the court on Friday will play for the Czechs, but outside of Tomas Berdych, they seems to be in a bit of a trouble. Their usual other single player, the 36-year-old Radek Stepanek hasn’t played since last August, which will leave the Czechs having to rely on either an out of form Lukas Rosol, or a rather inexperienced Jiry Vesely.
Luckily for them, it’s not like Australia packs a huge punch these days either. Their single players will probably be a way out of his prime Lleyton Hewitt, and Bernard Tomic. If Berdych can win both of his singles matches, Czech Republic should be all right.

This week, the first round of the World Group in the Fed Cup happens, Febuary 9th to the 10th. This match will happen at Cez Arena in Ostrava, in Czech Republic. These two have had matches together for a long time throughout history, but they haven't gotten together since 1992 when they played while Czech Republic was still called Czechoslovakia. As for the stats when it comes to head to head matches, Czech Republic has the advantage. They have also been able to win when it counts, coming out ahead in the two finals.
The past couple of years have been good for the Czech Republic team. They had a secret weapon in Petra Kvitova. She has been able to win in the final twice before, and they have become the top ranked nation in the Fed Cup. Australia was gone last year but after they beat Switzerland and Germany they are back in the World Group. The match with Germany was with Samantha Stosure and Jarmila Gajdosova who had good matches. Petra Kvitova is the headliner for the Czech Republic team and the Australians have Samantha Stosur again.
