Canada v Japan Live
Canada will host Japan on Friday at Vancouver, in the first round of the 2015 Davis Cup. The home team has never won the competition, in fact they have never even made the finals before. Japan has one final appearance from 1921, when they lost to the United States 0-5.
The best player of this leg is probably Kei Nishikori, but Milos Raonic is close enough that even if Nishikori would manage to win both of his singles matches, Raonic will surely take care of his match against world number 85 Tatsuma Ito. This could leave things to Vasek Pospisil, who is currently the 62nd player in the world.
Considering the fact that the Canadians will be playing at home, he should be able to win one of his two singles matches, which would give the edge to the Country above the United States, because they will have the much better doubles tandem.
Even though he is 42 years old, Daniel Nestor is still one fine doubles player, with as many as eight Grand Slam titles to his name, in addition to an Olympic Gold that he won during the Sydney Olympics. He will pair up with another solid doubles performer in Pospisil, which should be more than enough against the Japanese doubles tandem.
