France has never lost to Austria and they are the visiting team this time. They have come together in a tie no less than seven times, but not since 2000 when France took home a 5-0 win in the World Group Playoff match that was held in Rennes. Austria was in the World Group for six years until they were relegated for the 2009 season, but came back strong the next year to be in the top sixteen in 2010. They beat Israel 3-2 in the playoffs coming back from 1-2 down thanks to Jufgen Melzer and Martin Fischer taking the singles rubbers.
