Serena Williams v Vera Zvonareva Live
In a second round match at the 2015 Australian Open womens single event Vera Zvonareva of Russia will take on Serena Williams of the United States of America.
Vera Zvonareva has been put under ranking protection as she was out injured for a long time. She is two times Grand Slam doubles winner. She won the Australian Open back in 2012 and the US Open in 2006. She also has two mixed doubles titles, Wimbledon in 2006 and US Open in 2004. She has an Olympic Singles bronze at the 2008 Beijing Olympics games.
She has never really excelled as a singles player at the Grand Slams. Her best performance is the two semi-final appearances at the 2009 and 2011 games. Last year she exited the tournament in the very first round. In the first round she defeated Tunisian qualifier Ons Jabeur in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
Top seed and world number one Serena Williams defeated Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck in straight sets as well. She won the match in 6-0, 6-4.
Serena Williams is too strong a player to be beaten by Vera Zvonareva at this stage of their careers. Expect a comfortable victory for the American.
