The Rod Laver Arena is the location of some of our showcase matches this week during the 2011 Australian Open, the first Grand Slam event of the year, and on Thursday, January 20^th, the Rod Laver Arena at Melbourne Park will be host to a women's singles match between Samantha Stosur and Vera Dushenevina at 7:00PM and there will also be a men's singles match between Juan Martin Del Potro who comes from Argentina and Cyprus native Marcos Baghdatis. Both of these events will be round two for the competitors.

Samantha Stosur who is competing in her home country of Australia, will be heading to the Australian Open for the 9^th time. She has played in the doubles and singles previously making it to round four in 2006 and 2010 and then was a doubles finalist in 2006. As for Russian Vera Dushenevina she has been to the Australian Open six times previously competing in the women's singles and doubles and made it to the fourth round in the singles in 2005 and to round three in 2007 and 2010.
