Several matches will be taking place at the Rod Laver Arena on Day 9 of the 2011 Australian Open, our very first Grand Slam event of the year. In the morning we have several matches. One of those is the men's quarterfinal between Stanislas Wawrinka and Roger Federer, the number two seed in the men's singles, as well as a women's QF between Chinese player Na Li, who is seeded 9^th, and Andrea Petkovic from Germany. However, the match we're going to discuss is between the top seed of the tournament on the ladies side, Caroline Wozniacki taking on Francesca Schiavone on Tuesday, January 25^th.

Even though she is the top seed this year, Caroline Wozniacki has only entered in three Australian Opens previously. She made it to the fourth round in 2010 and in 2008 and to the second round in doubles in 2008. As for her opponent, she has played in the women's singles and doubles and was a fourth round contender in singles, but a semifinalist in the doubles in 2009.
