This week the ATP World Tour goes to Monte Carlo for the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters live, in Monaco. The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters will happen in Monte Carlo, Monaco, and this Masters 1000 event has a singles draw of 56 and a doubles draw of 24. It is worth 2,227,500 Euros and will be played on clay courts from April 10th to the 17th. The Monte Carlo Masters turned 100 years old in 2006 and it is the very first Masters 1000 tournaments played on clay so far this year with two to follow. Last year, Rafael Nadal won the tournament, breaking a record by taking the title for the sixth time in a row, and he has a 34 to 1 record in this tournament.
Top seed for the tournament is the returning champion, Rafael Nadal, hoping to take the title for the seventh successive time. Novak Djokovic is the second seed for this tournament and Roger Federer is third. Andy Murray takes the fourth placed spot with David Ferrer in fifth and Tomas Berdych in sixth. Fernando Verdasco is the seventh seed and eighth is Jurgen Melzer. The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters is 104 years old this year and this Masters 1000 tournament is one of only three events, that are played on clay, the other two to follow later in the year. The location is simply magnificent and past winners include Bjorn Borg, Gustavo Kuerten, Juan Carlos Ferraro and Thomas Muster as well as Rafael Nadal.
