On the ATP World Tour, finishing off the month of October, is a hard court tournament in Valencia, Spain, called the Valencia Open 500, which is worth nearly one million four hundred thousand Euros and has a singles draw of 32 and a doubles draw of 16. It happens starting October 30^th and will be joined by another tournament that starts one day later, on October 31^st in Basel, Switzerland. This is the Swiss Indoors Basel, a hard court tournament played indoors and featuring the same singles and doubles draw. Both of these tournaments are ATP 500 Level events.

 

 

The top seed for this tournament will be David Ferrer. Gael Monfils will be the second seed and then we have Jo Wilfried Tsonga as the third. The ATP World Tour holds another 500 level tournament this week, in Valencia, Spain and three tournaments in November to make up the end of the series. First is the Swiss Indoors Basel in Switzerland that starts on the 1^st, and the BNP Paribas Masters as well as the Barclays ATP World Tour finals, held in London, England starting on November 21^st. The ATP 500 Level tournament in Valencia, Spain is called the Valencia Open 500 and it starts on October 31^st and will end on November 7^th, with a total prize purse of € 1,357,000 and a singles draw of 32 with a doubles draw of 16. This is a hard court tournament that went through a transformation in 2009, coming from a clay court tournament held in the spring to competing indoors on hard courts and bumped up the to 500 level. This tournament sits in a pivotal spot as the men of the ATP attempt to qualify for the Barclays finals.

 

 

The top seed for this tournament is Andy Murray who took a total of six titles last year, and Robin Soderling takes the number two seed spot. Third seed for the Valencia Open 500 is Nikolay Davydenko and the fourth is Fernando Verdasco. The Valencia Open 500 is a 500 level tournament of the Association of Tennis Professional and it begins on November 2^nd in Valencia, Spain with more than two million euros up for grabs and a standard singles draw of 32 and a doubles draw of 16. This is the first ATP tournament in November, followed by another ATP 500 in Basel and the Masters Tournament in Paris starting October 8^th. So, we have the beautiful backdrop of the city of Valencia, as well as a brand new tournament that changed from a clay court to indoor hard courts and this will be the site of several hard fought battles in the days to come with everyone's mind on one thing – the Barclay's ATP World Tour Finals. Top seed for this tournament is Andy Murray, who is number four in the world right now, as well as 32 other great tennis players including half of the top ten players in the rankings.
