The ATP Tour will be playing this week in Stockholm, Sweden. It is a tournament called the IF Stockholm Open, and it starts on the 17th of October and runs until the 23rd. It has a purse of 531,000 Euros, with a singles draw of 28 and a doubles draw of 16, and will happen indoors on hard courts. This tournament first began in 1969 and has been held at the same venue for almost all of that time, the Kungliga Tennishallen. Six Swedes have taken the title since it began, including Roger Federer in the 2010 edition, receiving a trophy from Crown Princess Victoria.

The IF Stockholm Open starts on October 18th and will be held in Stockholm, Sweden. This ATP 250 Event is an indoor hardcourt tournament that is worth € 531,000 to the men of the ATP. The ATP will be heading to Sweden for an event in Stockholm called the IF Stockholm Open, which is a ATP 250 Tournament that features a prize purse of 600,000 Euros. This tournaments draws will pull 32 singles and 16 doubles and will be played on indoor hard courts and Robin Soderling, who is from Sweden will be hoping to collect a win and become the 11th Swedish Champion in this prestigious tournament. The last time that a Swedish player won this tournament was in the year 2004 and Soderling has been to the final twice before, but not able to capture the title, losing once to Mardy Fish in 2003, and then last year when he lost to David Nalbandian. Other winners of this tournament have included names like James Blake, Thomas Johansson, Todd Martin and Ivo Karlovic. Karlovic took the title in 2007, and then it was Blake for both 2006 and 2005 while the aforementioned Mardy Fish took home the championship in 2004 in a match won over Robin Soderling.

Some of the big names in this tournament besides Soderling include Tommy Haas, who is appearing in the tournament for the fifth time. He's been to the semi's twice, but never to the finals. Juan Carlos Ferrero will also be playing and he has been in excellent form this year, and will be a tough competitor. Also, Feliciano Lopez was here in 2006 and he reached the quarters.
