The SAP Open is the tournament that will happen in San Jose, California in the United States and this is an indoor tournament that happens February 7^th through the 13^th and will be played for a prize purse of $531,000. It has a singles draw of 32 and a doubles draw of 16 and will be played on hard courts. The SAP Open is one of the oldest tournaments in professional tennis on the men's side that happens in the United States. It first happened in 1889 and men like John McEnroe, Jimmy Conners, Pete Sampras, Andy Roddick, Andy Murray and Andre Agassi have won in the 120 year history of the event.

 

 

The number one seed for the SAP Open is Andy Roddick and he has won the tournament in the past. Second seed this year is Fernando Verdasco with Radek Stepanek as the third. Fourth and fifth seeds are Tommy Haas and Tomas Berdych and then the sixth is Philipp Kohlschreiber with Sam Querrey as the seventh seed and Jeremy Chardy the eighth. Another ATP 250 tournament kicks off the month of February for the Association of Tennis Professionals in San Jose, California in the United States. The tournament begins February 8^th and goes through until February 14^th with a singles draw of thirty two and a doubles draw of sixteen. $531,000 is up for grabs at this indoor hard courts event officially titled the SAP Open. This tournament is unique in that it is the second oldest of all the men's pro tournament in tennis here in the United States and dates back to 1889. During the past one hundred and twenty odd years many men have found themselves with the title in hand, including Pete Sampras, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe, Arthur Ashe and Ivan Lendl as well as the more recent additions of Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Lleyton Hewitt, and Andre Aggasi. This tournament has seen a lot over the years and history continues to be made each year.

 

 

This year the top seed will be Andy Roddick who won this event three times and was going for a fourth last year when he was sent packing by Radek Stepanek, bowing out in the semi-finals.
