The Ordina Open is both an ATP and WTA event, held in the Netherlands annually. This year, the tournament will be from June 15^th through June 21^st, and is the only grass tournament held in the Netherlands. Players from the ATP and WTA will compete in both singles and doubles for a 450,000 Euro prize for the men and a $220,000 US dollar prize for the women. This tournament has been a part of the ATP since 1990, and part of the WTA Tour since 1996, and the 2008 event was from June 15^th to June 21^st. The draw for the men is 32S, 32Q and 16D while the women's draw is 32M, 16Q and 16D.

In the men's finals last year, David Ferrer and Marc Gicquel faced off on the court for the men's singles, with Ferrer dominating quickly, winning in two sets with a final score of 6-4, 6-2. In the men's doubles it was Croatia's Mario Ancic and Jurgen Melzer from Austria, going up against the Indian team of Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes. Ancic and Melzer took the title, with 7-6 and 6-3 sets. For the ladies it seemed to be just as easy, with Tamarine Tanasugarn from Thailand going up against Dinara Safina with only two sets played as well. Safina lost 5-7, and 3-6.

This tournament comes on the heels of the AEGON Championships and the AEGON International for the ATP, and will be followed by Wimbledon, which begins June 22^nd. For the WTA, the 2009 Sony Ericsson WTA Tour just finished up with the AEGON Championship and the AEGON International as well, both events being both WTA and ATP Tour events.
