The ATP World Tour will be in Nice, France this coming week for a tournament, which joins the Masters Guinot Mary Cohr 2011 right before we head to Roland Garros in Paris, starting on May 22nd with a singles draw of 128 and a doubles draw of 64. The tournament in Nice, France is the Open de Nice Cote d Azur and it is going to start on the 16th of May. This is an ATP 250 level tournament with a singles draw of 28 and a doubles draw of 16. It happens on clay courts and last year was the first time that the ATP World Tour had been in Nice, France for 15 years. 2010 was also the first year for the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur. This is one of only five tournaments held in the Nation of France. Others include Montpellier, Metz and of course Paris with the French Open.
David Ferrer is the top seed for this tournament with Tomas Berdych as second. Nicolas Almagro and Andy Roddick take the third and fourth seed spots and the fifth is David Nalbandian. Alexandr Dolgopolov is the sixth seed and the last two seeds of the top eight for this event are Marcos Baghdatis and Sergiy Stakhovsky. ATP Tennis is once again upon us and the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur will be held in Nice, France from May 17th to the 22nd. This tournament will draw in a great crowd from Nice, and offer up a prize purse of 398.250 Euros for the men of the Association of Tennis Professionals. It's a clay court tourney, and the singles draw is 28 while the doubles draw is 16. The ATP is returning to Nice, France this year and this tournament replaces the one that was held in Kitzbuehel, Austria last year. This is an ATP World Tour 250 level event and played at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club, in preparation for the Grand Slam on Roland Garros, which is May 23rd through June 6th. A tournament hasn't been hosted in Nice since 1995. Nikolay Davydenko is the number one seed for the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur, and the winner of this event will earn 72,150 Euros as his prize, plus of course, 250 ATP Ranking points.
The second seed is twenty-five year old Swedish Player Robin Soderling, and the third seed is Fernando Verdasco from Spain. Fourth seed for the Nice tourney is Ivan Ljubicic and fifth will be Gael Monfils with Jurgin Melzer as sixth. Seventh is twenty-four year old Marcos Baghdatus and the eight seed for the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur is Thomaz Bellucci.
