The ATP World Tour will go to Newport in the United States for the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships, an ATP 250 event that has a singles draw of 32 and a doubles draw of 16. The tournament takes place on grass and happens from July 4^th to the 10^th. It has a prize purse of $442,500. This tournament celebrates the history of the grass court tournament in the United States, with the very first grass court tournament played in America at New port. This is the only grass court tournament that happens in North America, and happens in Rhode Island.

 

 

John Isner is the top seed for this tournament followed by Grigor Dimitrov and Ryan Sweeting as the second and the third seeds. Let's take a look at what's to come in the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport. But first, a history lesson. The very first U.S. National Lawn Tennis Championship was played here, incredibly all the way back in 1881 at the grass courts that now make up the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum. Eventually, that tournament became the U.S. Open, but this tournament still exists and is the only professional tournament that is played on grass in the entire continent of North America.
