On the ATP and WTA fronts we have a combined event in Moscow, Russia which is called the Kremlin Cup. This tournament takes place from . For the men it will feature just over a million dollars in prize money while the women's tournament is worth exactly one million dollars in total. The singles draws are 32 and 16 for both the men and the women. The tournament is played indoors on hard courts and this is one of the main events in this part of the season. This tournament runs October 19th through the 25th for both genders and for the women we know that Jelena Jankovic won the title last year, while Elena Dementieva won it the year before. This is a Premier Level tournament that will feature some of the best women's players in the world. Besides this tournament, there are only two Sony Ericsson events before Bali, one is Luxemburg on October 19th, and then a tournament on October 27th in Doha, Qatar. This is a great tournament because we are coming down to the wire in the WTA Race to Bali.
As for the men in this tournament one notable is Nikolay Davydenko who will be looking for a win as he makes this his 7th time playing in Moscow, with three Kremlin Cup titles already under his belt. He won in 2004, 2006 and 2007. Last year he made it to the quarterfinals but lost to Marat Safin. Also playing are Marin Cilic, Paul-Henri Mathieu and Igor Andreev.
