Fernando Gonzales is hoping to reach the final of this tournament for what will be his third straight year in Asia. He won the title in Beijing as well as a silver medal at last year's Olympic Games. David Ferrer has done well in Asia as well, taking the title in Tokyo in 2007 as well as finishing as the runner up at Shangai's Tennis Master's Cup. Nikolay Davydenko is hoping to take his very first ATP title in Asia. He was runner up to Djokovic in the Tennis Master's Cup in Shanghai last year. These are just some of the great men's tennis players taking to this indoor hardcourt field.
This is certainly an exciting tournament to watch as it is one of only five events played in Asia that end with the Shanghai Masters 1000. This tournament is so great because so many of the top players, including some in the top ten, compete there.
