With four titles in and showing no fatigues, the youngster has turned a lot of heads on the tour. Needless to mention, he is the favorite ones in the event to win. Standing in his way are the likes of Philipp Kohlschreiber, Marcel Granollers and Paolo Lorenzi. While all of three of them are considerably well experienced than Thiem, none of them have been able to get close to having a tally like his. Lorenzi and Granollers have lost more matches than they won, while Kohlschreiber is at 26-13 with one title. The German's last tournament was the Wimbledon, where he lost in the first round itself. Also playing in the tournament are Lukas Rosol, Jan Lennard Struff and Inigo Cervantes.

Thiem is certainly one of the youngest ones in this event, which makes this an exciting one to watch. Given his recent form, watching him play against the experienced names is definitely going to be a delight for any tennis fan.

The Generali Open is an outdoor clay court tournament held annually in Kitzbühel. The defending champion is David Goffin who went all the way last year, winning his maiden title in the final against Dominic Thiem, defeating him 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.

The 2015 tournament will be the 71st edition of the Generali Open which makes it one of Europe s oldest and most prestigious clay court tourneys. The total prize money will exceed €467,800 this year with the winner taking home a big chunk of that hefty sum. The Austrian Open is a tournament that has been won by players from all over Europe. What’s more surprising is that the great Pete Sampras was aésp able to win there once, back in 1992, marking his first career clay court title. He went on to capture two additional trophies on the surface but never made it to the final of the Roland Garros (reached the semis in 1996). Among the more recent winners, we can see the likes of Robin Haase and Andreas Seppi who are great players of course, but cannot compare to Grand Slam winners and world number ones like Sampras or even a Thomas Muster who all emerged victorious at one point during the history of the tournament.

While he’ll likely won’t reach these heights either, Goffin will have a solid chance to defend his title. With that said, the top favorite will be the Austrian Dominic Thiem who just won his third career title, in the final defeating the Belgian of all people.

While the name has recently changed due to sponsorship reasons, it was previously known simply as the Austrian Open, and this year would be the 70th edition of this tournament, making it one of the oldest that exist. Currently a part of the Association of Tennis Professional’s 2014 World Tour, more specifically of the World Tour 250 Series, the Bet-at-home Cup is to be held in, as the name suggests, Kitzbühel, a city of Austria. While Austria is definitely no stranger to hosting tennis tournaments, this tournament is definitely one of the most prestigious and popular tournaments that it has the pleasure of hosting.
