The picturesque city of Delray Beach, Florida will be hosting the Delray Beach Open this week, featuring some of the well known names in the world of tennis.

World No. 4 Milos Raonic is the star player here and has been given the top seed. His last tournament was the Australian Open, where he reached the quarterfinal before losing to Rafael Nadal. Nonetheless, the Canadian has been in a good form so far and he certainly should be able continue the same here. Placed in his opposite half is the Croatian Ivo Karlovic, who has lost his opening few matches in Ecuador Open and Memphis Open. He started the year on a decent note, but his form has taken a toll since the Australian Open. Something similar can be said for Sam Querrey too, whose best run came in Melbourne where he reached the third round. Lastly, there's the 24 year old Jack Sock, who will be playing here as the third seed. He started the year by winning the ASB Classic and following it with a third round run in the Melbourne.

Raonic is certainly the player to beat here, but the tournament has also got players like Juan Martin del Potro and Bernard Tomic. This is surely going to be an intriguing event to follow.

Played on an outdoor hard court, the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships is an ATP 250 event. This year's tourney will come with a $514,065 total prize money which is a very significant amount at that level.

The defending champion of the tournament is the Croatian Ivo Karlovic who will be the third seeded player this year. The top seed will be the South African Kevin Anderson, followed by world number 20 Bernard Tomic, the world number 26 Karlovic, world number 27 Grigor Dimitrov, world number 28 Jeremy Chardy, world number 29 Steve Johnson, world number 48 Donald Young and world number 49 Adrian Mannarino. All top eight seeds will be top 50 players, in fact the first six of those players will come with a top 30 ranking. This is feat worthy of praise pulled off by the organizers, especially with their tournament having to go up against such a strong weekly competition.

The main favorites to grab the title are definitely the big hitters, first and foremost Kevin Anderson who already won here in 2012 (he also made the final two years later, losing to Marin Cilic). If not him, it will probably come down to Karlovic, Tomic or Dimitrov.

Marin Cilic is the defending champion, but owing to an injury he picked up last season. The top seed has been bagged by the South African Kevin Anderson, who has had a fairly decent season so far. He reached the semifinal at Auckland and fourth round at Australian Open. The second seeded player is the American John Isner, who has played only at Melbourne so far. He didn’t have much luck there and lost in the third round. Placed in Isner’s half is the third seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, who has begun his current season on an uneventful note – exiting early at Melbourne and Brisbane. The Croatian Ivo Karlovic is the fourth seeded for the tournament. He began his year on a terrific not, reaching the semifinal at Doha. However, he failed to play in the same vein in the subsequent events and never made it past the second round.

In my opinion, John Isner has the best chance to win the tournament. Owing to the immense experience, the odds are stacked in his favor. Being the local favorite, he should be able to gain some momentum here for the upcoming events in the season.
