On the ATP Tour, one of the first events of the year will be the Aircel Chennai Open, which will be held in Chennai, India on hard courts for $450,000. This event will follow the Brisbane ATP and WTA Tournaments and will be played starting the 31st of December. It has a singles draw of 28 and a doubles draw of 16. This event is the only stop in India for the ATP World Tour, and is one of three tournaments that kick off the 2013 season of tennis. There are three tournaments starting at the beginning of the new year on the ATP World Tour. The first is the Brisbane International in Australia, starting on the first, and then the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha, but between those two tournaments starting the second of January and running until the 8th is the Aircel Chennai Open, which happens in Chennai, India. This tournament will be played on Hard Courts and it will hold a prize purse of $398,250 for the participants, with a total financial commitment of $450,000. The singles draw for this event is thirty two players and the doubles draw will be sixteen. The tournament goes from Monday, January 4th of the new year to Sunday, the 10th of January and is an ATP 250 World Tour event.
