Chennai Open Live
The Aircel Chennai Open will be held for the 21st time this year, offering a rather hefty $482.085 total prize money. An ATP 250 event, the Open is played on outdoor hard courts, offering the players a chance to get into a rhythm on the surface before the Australian Open.
The reigning champion is the Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka who had himself another excellent season last year, winning his first Roland Garros title and his second Grand Slam trophy overall. In addition to that amazing result, he also won three ATP titles, including the 2015 Aircel Chennai Open. The Swiss' victory wasn't his first in Chennai, as he already managed to accomplish this feat back in 2014 and 2011 (he also had a final appearance from the year before). With the three titles he is the most successful champion in tournament history before Marin Cilic and Carlos Moya, both of whom managed to win the event twice.
The Swiss will try to win his fourth title this year and his biggest obstacle in achieving that feat is probably the South African Kevin Anderson, who will not only be the second seed of the event but someone with an excellent record against the Swiss (currently tied at 4-4).
