The ATP competition continues in China this week, with Chengdu being one of the two cities to be hosting a tournament.
The top four seeds in the Chengdu Open have been given direct entry to the second round. Dominic Thiem has been given the first seed, which was only obvious given that the world no. 10 has a record of 55-18 now, last emerging as the runner-up in Moselle Open. He has the best form among the seeded players, but certainly lacks experience when compared to them. Grigor Dimitrov will be looking to capture his first title of the year in Chengdu, given that he has been unsuccessful in his other attempts so far. He last played at the Flushing Meadows, so it will certainly be intriguing to see his form here. Similarly, Feliciano Lopez of Spain has been seeded fourth, who had a brief success period between late July-early August. Since then, he has been losing out early in all the tournaments he played in. Nick Kyrgios will also be playing in the tournament, following his shaky form in the recent months.
With Atlanta title being his sole feat in the past few months, the world no. 15 will be eager to break that jinx. Needless to mention, this tournament is certainly going to be an exciting one to see.
