The ATP Challenger Tour will head to Todi, Italy this week for a clay court tournament that is worth €30,000 to these up and coming tennis players on the ATP Challenger Tour joining Challenger Tournaments in Brazil, Thailand, the United States, Bosnia and Poland this week. The top seed for the Todi, Italy tournament on the ATP Challenger Tour is Marcel Granollers and the event is officially titled the blu-express.com Tennis Cup. Marcel Granollers is from Spain and he will be facing off against Russian Mikhail Vasiliev in the first round. The second seed for the ATP Todi is going to be Carlos Berlocq from Argentina, whose first round opponent is Yannick Mertens. Third seed is going to be Paolo Lorenzi from Italy who will be going to round one with country-mate Stefano Galvani.

 

 

Fourth seed is Oscar Hernandez from Spain, with Diego Junqueira from Argentina as the fifth seed. The sixth of these tennis stars of tomorrow is Maximo Gonzales from Argentina, and the seventh is Reda El Amrani with Guillaume Rufin from France as the eighth seed of the tournament, facing Italian Daniele Giorgini in the very first round. Another great ATP Challenger Series tournament happens next week from Todi, Italy where players compete for prize money and ATP Ranking points. It will be held September 12^th through the 20^th and is a $50,000 tournament, with several big names from the series competing. The top ranked player that will be competing in this tournament is Marcel Granollers, ranked number 61 in the ATP rankings. . Others that are at the top of this tournaments main draw include Kevin Anderson who is ranked number 148, Pablo Andujar, Andrea Arnabolid, Matthias Bachinger and Carsten Ball as well as number 65 ranked player Simone Greul.

 

 

Tournaments in August on the ATP Challenger Series included the Brasov Challenger in Romania which was won by Thiemo de Bakker who beat Pere Riba 7-5, 6-0. There was also the Black Forest Open, from Freudenstadt, Germany, won by Jan Hajek against Laurent Recouderc in three sets. The ATP Challenger tour allows players that are up and coming, and new to professional tennis to prove themselves on the courts and earn ATP ranking points to make it to tournaments that offer even more prize money and international fame. The ATP Challenger Series holds events in forty countries, with a total of over 120 events.

 

 

The Todi, Italy tournament is played on clay courts and has a total purse of $50,000.
