Challenger Rio Quente Live
The ATP Challenger Tour will be playing in Rio Quente, Brazil this week, one of five challenger tournaments that are scheduled to be held. This one is a hard court event worth $35,000. Two other hard court events include Athens, Greece for 42,500 Euros and Busan, South Korea for $75,000. There are also two clay court events being played, one in Prague, Czech Republic and the other in Rome, Italy. The official name for the Rio Quente is the Algar Telecom and it will happen from the 7th of May to the 13th.
The winner of this tournament walks away with $5000 and 80 points, while finalists will receive $3000 and 48 points. The top seeded player is 114th ranked Paul Capdeville. Ricardo Mello is the second seed for this event and then Julio Silva comes in at third. Our fourth seed is 153rd ranked Thiago Alves and then Ivo Minar and Marcel Felder are the fifth and the sixth seeds for this ATP Challenger Tournament, and Ricardo Hocevar will be the seventh. The eighth seed for this tournament will be Nicolas Pator who is ranked 274th in the world.
