The Camparini Giolelli Cup 2009 is all this week from Reggio Emilia, Italy, starting on June 22^nd and lasting until Sunday, June 28^th. This tournament is part of the ATP Challenger tour and the first and second round have already passed. Now we move onto the end of the quarterfinals and the finals this weekend. Singles seeds include Nicolas Massu, Marcos Daniel, Josselyn ouanna, Pere Riba, Tomas Tenconi, Favio Cipolla, Denis Gremelmay and Mathieu Montcourt. The doubles seeds are Juan Sebastian Cabal and Julio Silva, Denis Gremelmayr and Simone Vagnozzi, Tomasz Bednarek and Jim Thomas and Pierre-Ludovic Duclos and Marcio Torres.

Two rounds are nearly over and some players are currently competing in the quarterfinals. In the singles, the first round had Nicolas Massu beating Pavol Cervenak in two sets, Denis Gremelmayr from Germany defeating Olivier Patience in two easy sets 6-3, 6-1, and several other first round champions including Thomas Fabbiono, Alberto Brizzi, Flavio Cipolla and Mikhail Kukushkin. Denis Gremelmayr also won his second round against Mariano Zabaleta, and Jene Rene Lisnard beat Pere Riba 7-6, 6-3. In the doubles competition Flavio Cipolla and Marcus Daniel were champions as well as Juan Sebastian Cabal and Julio Silva. 

The quarterfinals so far had Marcos Daniel and Flavio Cipolla beat Juan Sebestian Cabal and Julio Silva 6-2, 6-0, while Gianluca Naso and Walter Trusendi had a victory over Jose Checa and Guillermo Hormazabal. The action continues this weekend from Italy, as the players compete on the clay courts for a total purse of 42,500 Euros.
