The Poznan Open has been taking place since 2004 at the Park Tenisowy Olimpia in Poznan, which is situated in Poland. It’s always a fierce competition between some of the finest Tennis players. The total prize money is $30,000 which clearly shows this isn’t a very small tournament.
It has both a singles and doubles. Last year’s winner of the Singles category was Jerzy Janowicz of Poland, while the in Doubles category it was Rameez Junaid of New Zealand and Simon Stadler of Germany. It’s a clay court tournament and currently the eliminations are taking place.
Jedruszczak Claus surprised the tennis world by beating the Serbian player Danilo Petrovic, some other players include Andrzej Kapas who is so far doing good in the first round of the elimination tournament.
Other than him, Andrew Kapasi has also been doing well and was classified in the top hundred of last year’s ATP rankings. There’s also Patryk Janik as well as Daniel Smethurst of Britain along with the Belgian player Jeroen Vanneste.
Overall the line up seems to be a good line up, with most of the players being in the top hundred of the ATP ranking, making this tournament definitely one to watch!
