The ATP Challenger Pereira live is a clay court tournament that features a prize purse of $50,000 and the official name of it is the Seguros Bolivar Open. The winner of this event will get to take home $7200 and 90 points, while the finalist gets $4,240 and 55 points. Making it to the semifinals will get $2,510 and 33 points and quarterfinalists receive $1,460 and 17 points. The top seed in this tournament is Alejandro Falla, ranked number 108 and hailing from Columbia, facing a country mate in round one in Carlos Salamanca. The tournament is April 4th through the 10th.
The second seed is Eduardo Schwank, from Argentina and ranked number 121 with Joao Souza as the third seed. France's Eric Proudon is the fourth seed for the Seguros Bolivar Open and Paolo Lorenzi from Italy, ranked number 154th is the fifth seed. The sixth and seventh seeds for this tournament are Diego Junquiero and Rogerio dutra d Silva and then the eighth is Leonardo Mayer. The ATP Challenger tour goes to Pereira, Columbia, April 12th through the 18th for the Seguros Bolivar Open Live, a tournament played on Red Clay for a fifty thousand dollar purse. The ATP Challenger Tour is intended for up and coming tennis professionals that are looking to move into more prestigious events such as the ATP World Tour 250, 500 and Masters 1000 events. As usual a national of the host city is the top seed for this tournament. Santiago Giraldo is the top seed for this tournament and will be facing off against Alejandro Gonzales who is also from Columbia. Twenty two year old Giraldo is actually from Pereira and has earned nearly $280,000 in his career so far. He is currently ranking number 83 in the world and although he doesn't have any titles yet, his win-loss record is 15-23. He'll be looking to improve that further as he participates in this ATP Challenger event in Columbia.
Second seed is Paolo Lorenzi, an Italian tennis player who will play Catalin Gard in round one. Third seed is Paul Capdeville and the fourth seed for this tournament is Joao Souza from Brazil. That leaves us with the fifth and sixth seeds which are Sebastian Decoud and Gaston Gaudio followed by the seventh and eight – Carlos Salamanca and France's Alexandre Sidorenko.
