With total prize money of over 85,000 Euros, this tournament will be one of the biggest that takes place in the area, if not the biggest. It has been held annually since 2004 and is played in Ostrava, in Czech Republic.

There will be a total of 32 singles players taking part in the tournament, and 16 doubles team, all competing for the honor of being the champion of the Prosperita Open, 2014.

The champion in 2013 was Czech Republic’s own Jiri Vesely who had beaten the runner up with a score of six-four in the first set and six-four in the second set, who was Steve Darcis of Belgium. Before that the winner was Jonathan Dasnieres De Veigy of France.

Looking at the history, we see that normally it is players around this area looking for an opportunity to shine, as all winners are from Czech Republic, except for two, who are from France. So this is a good time to look at underdog talent.
