Challenger Ortisei Live
The momentum on the Challenger tour now shifts to Italy, with Ortisei Challenger being the next event on the list. Set to begin on Monday, the tournament will feature many talented players.
Benjamin Becker has been seeded first here, who last played in the ATP Vienna. He cleared the qualifying rounds, but ended up losing his first round in the main draw to Jo Wilfried Tsonga. He was also the semifinalist in Monterrey Challenger. The second seed goes to the Russian Evgeny Donskoy, who last reached the quarterfinal in Pune Challenger. Prior to that, he also reached the second round in the Kremlin Cup. Alessandro Giannessi of Italy has been given the third seed here, who last lost in the first round of Brest Challenger. However, prior to that, he was the quarter-finalist in Fairfield and Stockton Challengers, and had also won the Szczecin Challenger. Lastly, there's Mirza Basic, who will be playing here as the fourth seed. Basic has incurred defeats in his last two Challenger events, both of which came in the first round. His best run came in Tashkent, where he was the semifinalist.
Given the form of these players here, it is certainly hard to predict a victor at the moment. However, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine Gianessi going the distance, or seeing one of the underdogs rise to the occasion.

The Sparkassen ATP Challenger (or as formerly known, the Internazionali Tennis Val Gardena Sudtirol) is an indoor (carpet) hard court tournament held annually in Ortisei, Italy.
The 2015 event is the sixth edition in tournament history and the organizers put together a € 64,000 total prize money pool for the occasion. They also managed to lure in quality talent in the recent years, notably multiple ATP champion Andreas Seppi who has won the 2013 and the 2014 tournament as well. The three-time career titlist Italian won't compete this year but the main draw will still have one ATP titlist, 2011 Sparkassen ATP Challenger champion Rajeev Ram. In addition to Ram, there are several other quality players in the main draw with extended Challenger level experience, experience that involves winning numerous tournaments. Dustin Brown is a multiple-time Challenger titlist, and the same is true about Ricardas Berankis, Evgeny Donskoy or Michael Berrer as well.
Any of those players could realistically win the tournament but the main favorite is probably the Lithuanian Berankis who although never won an ATP tourney, is a consistent top 100 player who is still young enough to improve not just his ranking, but also his chances of possibly winning an ATP event in the near future.
