The ATP Challenger Tour will be holding several tournaments this week. Our featured one is in Monza, Italy, but there is also a hard court tournament held in Recife, Brazil for $35,000 and another held in Pereira, Columbia. The Tournament in Monza, Italy features a prize purse of 30,000 Euros and it will be held from April 4th through the 10th on red clay. The official name of the tournament is the Internazional di Monza e Brainza and the winner walks away with 80 points and 4300 Euros in prize money with the finalist gets 2500 and 48 points. Semifinalists will receive 1500 Euros and 29 points while quarterfinalists get just 15 points and 875 Euros. 116th ranked Andreas Haider-Maurer was supposed to have competed in this tournament but has pulled out.
The top seed for this tournament is Jan Hajek, ranked 106th in the world with Denis Gremelmayr at 109 as the second seed. Jaroslav Pospisil is the third seed and 114th ranked Marsel Ilhan is the fourth. The fifth see, Andreas Haider Maurer has pulled out but the eighth is 120th ranked Kukasz Kubot and Julian Reister and Lukas Rosol are the seventh and eight seeds.
