This will be the 10th edition of the tournament which has been won previously by the likes of Alessio Di Mauro and Albert Ramos. The current holder of this tournament is Federico Delbonis who defeated Rogerio Dutra Silva in straight sets in last year’s final. The top seeds at the tournament this year are Rogerio Dutra Silva from Brazil, Gastao Elias from Portugal, Roberto Carballes Baena from Spain, Carlos Berlocq from Argentina and Marco Cecchinato from Italy. My predictions for the quarter finals are: Rogerio Dutra Silva vs Marco Cecchinato, Carlos Berlocq vs Gonzalo Lama, Alejandro Gomez vs Roberto Carballes Baena and Filippo Volandri vs Gastao Elias. On to the semifinals, I predict Rogerio Dutra da Silva vs Carlos Berlocq, and Roberto Carballes Baena vs Gastao Elias. I see the two top seeds making it to the final to set up an intriguing clash.

Gastao Elias has had a better clay court season this year than the Brazilian top seed, and I expect this form to help him clinch the trophy come June 26.

The Frenchman Benoit Paire has been awarded the top seed, following his decent run on the Challenger circuit this season. He has won three titles on the tour already and is currently seeking his fourth one, right before the Wimbledon commences. In addition to this, he also reached the third round in Roland Garros and Barcelona Open. Meanwhile, Federico Delbonis has been seeded second, who had a remarkable run in the Geneva Open, having reached the semifinal there. Moreover, he also won the challenger event in Sarasota. His Slovakian adversary Blaz Kavcic is the third seed of the tournament, who has won the event in Shenzhen earlier this year. The tournament will also feature the Kazakh Andrey Golubev, alongside with the Indian Ramkumar Ramanathan.

In my opinion, Paire is definitely the favorite one here. He is considerably more experienced than rest of his competitors, and has had a decent run on the ATP tour too. He should be to win yet another title here and improve his chances of reaching latter stages in the upcoming Grand Slam.

The tournament was first played in 2006 and saw Tommy Robredo win the competition last season. This time around there is no Robredo because of his smart performance at the French Open 2013 but there is a host of other superstars entering the tournament. Seeded number one in the competition is Filippo Volandri who will also be the favourite to win the tournament while world number 133 Diego Sebastian Schwartzman is the second seeded player entering the competition. Some of the other players who will make it to the main draw of the tournament and look to improve their world rankings will be Ivan Sergeyev, who is the third seed and Andrey Golubev, seeded third and fourth in the competition.
