Challenger Istanbul Live
The Challenger Tour will continue this week in Turkey, as the American Express Open in Istanbul will take place this week.
For the event, Malek Jaziri of Tunisia has been given the top seed. He has been shifting between the ATP and Challenger Tour, but it hasn't worked out for him. He last played in the US Open were he lost in the first round. Dudi Sela is another player with a similar conundrum, who lost to Pablo Cuevas in the opener at the Flushing Meadows. In fact, that has been the trend for Sela in the entire US Open series and is coming here to build up some form again. Among these experienced names playing, Marco Chiudinelli is the one with most success in the last Grand Slam, having made it to the second round. However, he has been losing out in the qualifiers of many events this year, making this event in Istanbul a must win for him. Lastly, Tobias Kamke has been given the fourth seed based on his average season. He has won a Challenger title in Kazan, but also had instances where he failed to move past the qualifiers on the ATP tour.
With season coming to an end, the stakes are high to finish the year with a decent ranking. It will be intriguing to see who wins here.

While there are no Grand Slam winners among those players, there are many who managed to win at least one ATP title in their career, and several of them were multiple titlists. Out of these players, 21-time ATP titlist Nikolay Davydenko and 10-time ATP titlist Robin Soderling are probably the biggest names.
The reigning champion of this event is currently the French Adrian Mannarino who will not compete in this year’s tournament. In his absence, top seed (and wild card entrant) Sergiy Stakhovsky is probably the biggest favorite.
