The ATP Challenger Tour makes a stop this week in Helsinki, Finland for the IPP Open Helsinki, where the men of the Challenger Tour compete at Greenset Comfort for a prize purse of 106,500 Euros. It's one of three Challenger Tourneys this week, and the biggest one of them all, with a singles draw of 32 and a doubles draw of 16. It's played on Carpet and comes the same time as a hardcourt tournament in Pueblo, Mexico and another carpeted court in Toyota, Japan. So for the singles side of the tournament we have the top seeded player as Jarkko Nieminen from the host country of Finland, and is the highest ranked player from that nation ever. He has one career title and reached the quarterfinals in the Australian Open, Wimbledon, The US Open as well as getting to round four at Roland Garros. Number two seed is Karol Beck. Nieminen will be facing off against Petru-Alexandru Luncanu and Beck will be taking on Evgeny Donskoy in round one. Fourth and Fifth is Kevin Kim and Harel Levy.
As this tournament continues we also see sixth seed Ivan Navarro going up against Adrian Ungar in the first round, as well as number seven seed Michael Berrer from Germany playing Henri Kontinen. Bjorn Phau, another German is the third seed and faces Great Britain's Daniel Evans. The number eight seed for this tournament is Stefan Koubek.
