Challenger Champaign Live
The city of Champaign, Illinois, will be hosting the JSM Challenger this week, featuring some of the rising stars on the circuit.
The top seed goes to the American Jared Donaldson, who is coming in fresh from a semifinal run to the Knoxville Challenger most recently. Before that, he also managed to reach the quarterfinal in Charlottesville. He also played some on the ATP Tour, but apart from a third round run in the US Open, he didn't have any other major feats. Henri Laaksonen of Switzerland is the second seed here, who recently reached the semifinal of Vietnam Open and Charlottesville. However, in his last event in Knoxville, he lost early in the first round. Another youngster to join the list of contenders here is Stefan Kozlov, who was the runner-up in China International Suzhou Challenger, and also the semifinalist in Knoxville. Lastly, there's the Belgian Joris De Loore, who too played in Knoxville most recently, but lost in the first round itself. Among the lot, he is the one player with the least amount of momentum.
All of them played in the same tournament last week itself, and are quite familiar with each other's style of playing. This is certainly going to be an intriguing one to see.

The JSM Challenger Of Champaign is a North American outdoor hard court tournament held in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, USA. The tournament has a total financial commitment of $50,000.
That money was enough to bring in some quality talent which happened to include a single top 100 player, the currently world number 100 Malek Jaziri. The Tunisian is a two-time Challenger titlist who was as high as 65th in the ranking a couple of years back. Clearly somebody who can do some damage at that level. When it comes to the past winners of the tournament, we can safely say that the JSM Challenger has been largely dominated by American players. This year's event will be the 20th edition in tournament history and out of the 19 competitions so far, 12 has been won by an American player. The last time this happened was 2013 when Tennys Sandgren went all the way, defeating Samuel Groth in the final. Last year was Adrian Mannarino's, who will not compete in this year's tournament.
In his absence, the biggest favorite will be Jaziri, who already managed to win his first round match by comfortably beating Noah Rubin, 6-4, 6-2. If not him, second and third seed Americans, Austin Krajicek or Ryan Harrison could go all the way.
