The Busan Open is annual outdoor hard court tourney held in Busan, South Korea. The tournament belongs to the ATP Challenger Tour competitions with a total prize money of $100,000. The 2015 tournament will be the 13th edition of the Busan Open, the first event was held back in 2003. When it comes to the past champions, we can safely conclude that the tournament was mostly dominated by Asian players.

Out of the 12 prior tournaments there were as many as nine occasions when an Asian player emerged victorious at the end of the week. When it comes to the best players of tournament history, we have to talk about three names, all of them having two Busan Open trophies to their name. The Taiwanese Danai Udomchoke, the Israeli Dudi Sela and the Japanese Go Soeda are all two-times winners. Neither of them could defend their titles so far, but Soeda this year will have a chance to become the first one to do it.

He is the reigning champion and will be among the eight seeded players for the tournament, along with his fellow two-time champion Sela. Neither of them will be the top seed however, this privilege will go to world number 67 Lu Yen Hsun who will be followed by world number 85 Sam Groth and then Soeda. Outside of world number 122 Ryan Harrison, all seeded players will be a top 100 performer.

The winners of the previous year were Dudi Sela of Israel and Alex Bogomolov Jr. of Russia; the latter losing in the final 6-1 and 6-4. There are also doubles team which take part in the tournament.
