The ATP Challenger Tour will be holding two tournaments this week, in the Tour that is especially for up and coming tennis players that will be the stars of tomorrow. This week's tournament is the McDonald's Burnie International, and it will be held from the 30th of January to the 5th of February, in Burnie, Australia. This is a hard court tournament that is worth $50,000 and it will be joined by the only other major Challenger event this week, the $75,000 Kazan Kremlin Cup, another hard court event that happens in Kazan, Russia.

Denis Istomin is the top seed for this tournament, with Yen-Hsun Lu coming in as second Tatsuma Ito was the third and then Tsung-Hua Yang is number four. Greg Jones takes the fifth seed spot and Danal Udomchoke is the sixth. Marinko Matosevic is seventh and Yuichi Sugita takes eighth. The winner of this tournament will take home $7200 in cash and $4240 will go to second place. It's the Burnie International, with players on the Challenger Tour hoping to improve their skills and prove that they can hack it on the main tour. This tournament features Bernard Tomic, a seventeen year old from Germany who has been making waves on the international tennis circuit. He played Marin Cilic in the Australian Open and amazingly was able to keep him going for five grueling sets. Tomic is just one of the rising stars that has qualified for this year's main draw in the Burnie International, and the top seed is Grega Zemlja from Slovakia who is paired up in the first round against Australian Rameez Junaid. Tomic will play New Zealander Daniel-King Turner.

The rest of the seeds go as follows: Guillaume Rufin in the number two spot, matched up in round one against Jose Statham and Marinko Matosevic as the third seed against Sadik Kadir from Australia. Fourth seed is Brydan Klein from Australia and a Japanese player is the fifth: Tatsuma Ito. Sixth seed will be Australian Nick Lindahl followed by Greg Jones and Matthew Ebden.
