2014 President's Cup is a professional and famous tennis cup to be take place among world professional tennis players. All the matches will be played on the hard courts in Astana, Kazakhstan from 21st July to 27th July, 2014. It would be the ninth edition taking place under the banner of 2014 ATP Challenger Tour.

Last year it was Dudi Sela from Israel who was able to beat his entire opponent to earn the title of champion. This year also close end matches are expected and winner of the tournament will get the handsome prize money of $125,000.

Astana, Kazakhstan prepares for the 8th time as the ATP Challenger Tour heads again for its way this February, to conduct matches for an entire week. The matches have been scheduled from the 17th to the 23rd of February.

Hard indoor courts have been selected for the matches. The trophy is worth prize money of $75000.

 

While the main draw brought only Andrey Golubev from Kazakhstan into the main field, the wild cards added an additional three to the list, including Abiyev, Yevseyev and Khabibulin.

 

Alexander Kudryavtsev managed to enter into the main draws on behalf of Russia, while Karen Kachanov came in through the wild cards.

 

Italy also has two representatives in the tournament: Matteo Viola and Flavio Cipolla. Similarly, Czech Republic brings in two of her players: Jan Mertl and Jaroslav Pospisil. The 2013 champion of the tournament, Dudi Sela of Israel is not playing this year.

 

The Astana Challenger is expected to help Kazakhstan progress and to bring tennis fever to this part of Asia where the word sport is considered synonymous with cricket, the director of the event said while talking to the press earlier this week.

Also called The President’s Cup, this tournament is scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan in the city of Astana.

It’s to be played on a hard surface and it will have a prize of $125,000. This is the biggest Tennis Tournament in the area and will be one to watch if you happen to be in Kazakhstan.

 

This Russian speaking country is also as enthusiastic about tennis as Russia itself, being one of the more involved countries in the tennis world. It will have both doubles and singles and will feature some of the best players from around this area.

 

Previous winners include Evgeny Donskoy of Russia who in 2012 beat Marsel I lhan 6:3, 6:4. And before that, it was Kazakhstan’s own Mikhail Kukushkin who had beaten Serhiy Bubka.

 

In the doubles matches, Konstantin Kravchuk of Russia paired up with Ukraine’s Denys Molchanov to beat Karol Beck and Kamil Capkovic both of Slovakia.

The Kazakhstan tennis federation has put a lot of work into this international tournament and will be continuing this work to make it one of the biggest tournaments around this area, meant to be for professional and semi professional tennis players around this country.

On the ATP Challenger Tour, the players will be in Astana, Kazakhstan, for a hard court tournament that is worth a large prize purse for the Challenger Tour. This event is $125,000 and it is officially called the President's Cup and will be held from the 23rd to the 29th of July. Other tournaments on the Challenger Tour this week include a hard court event for $50,000 in Wuhan, China, and another in the United States, held in Lexington, Kentucky. There is also a tournament on clay courts that will be held in Orbetello, Italy.

The President's Cup will feature a $18,000 grand prize to the winner, and one hundred and ten points, while the finalist will get to take home a check for $10,600 as well as winning sixty five points. The number one seed in Astana will be Cedrik Marcel Stebe, with Karol Beck taking second on the list and Andrey Golubev as third. The fourth and the fifth seeds are Marsel Ilhan and Evgeny Donskoy and then Konstantin Kravchuk is sixth. Seventh and eighth seeds in this tournament are Yuki Bhambri and Kamil Capkovic.

The ATP World Tour will go to Astana this week for a tournament in Astana, Kazakhstan, which will join several other tournaments on the Challenger Tour, although they are all smaller tournaments than the event in Astana. Playing this week is a tournament in Wuhai, China on hard courts for $35,000 as well as two 30,000 Euro tournaments in Dortmund, Germany and Recanati, Italy, one clay and one hard surface. Also, Finland will play host to a 43,000 Euro ATP Challenger Tournament that will take place on clay courts as well.

This tournament is August 23rd through the 29th and in the main draw for the singles the top seed for this tournament is Igor Kunitsyn from Russia, who will face a qualifier in the first round. Kunitsyn is a 28 year old who has earned nearly two million dollars in this tennis career so far, making it to the second round of the U.S. Open, Wimbledon and the Australian Open.
