2008 was the inception of the Serbia Open, and never before had a tournament been held in Serbia, so it was a risky proposition. That year, Novak Djokovic made his hometown proud with a win over Lukasz Kubot. The tournament was host to over 100,000 fans during the nine days that it was going on. This year, the top seed in this event is Djokovic, and the 22 year old has already done extremely well this year, reaching the quarter finals in Rome and the semi-finals in Monte-Carlo. He'll hope to win another title for his hometown of Belgrade.
