The ATP Tour this week will head to Bangkok, Thailand for the PTT Thailand Open, a hard court tournament that is worth $551,000. It is an ATP World Tour 250 level tournament and will run from the 26th of September to the 2nd of October. It features a singles draw of 28 and a doubles draw of 16 Starting on the same day is another ATP 250 level tournament in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is also a hard court tournament, played indoors with the same singles and doubles draw. However, the purse is larger for the Kuala Lumpur event.
This tournament goes back to 2003 and traditionally it has attracted some of the greatest players in Tennis. The first title was won by Taylor Dent and others have included Roger Federer and James Blake. Andy Murray is the top seed, with Robin Soderling as the second. Gael Monfils and Gilles Simon are the third and fourth seeds and fifth is Feliciano Lopez. The last three are Marcel Granollers, Ivan Dodig and Guillermo Garcia Lopez.
